1. Running the Checklist
You can access Close Out Day from the POS dashboard by tapping Close Out Day.
When you open the Close Out Day screen, the right side displays the Close Out Day Checklist. The checklist header reads: "Complete the required checks to close out the day." Each item shows a numbered row with a Task, Status, and an action button.
The checklist contains three items:
Ongoing Orders
This item tracks orders that are still in progress (accepted, preparing, delivering, or ready for pickup).
If orders remain, the status badge shows the count (e.g., "2 orders ongoing") with a warning indicator.
Tap View Orders to open the order list, where you can complete or resolve outstanding orders.
Once all orders are completed, the status changes to All orders completed.
Open Shifts
This item tracks employee shifts that have not yet been closed.
If shifts remain open, the status badge shows the count (e.g., "3 pending shifts") with a warning indicator.
Tap Close Shifts to select a shift to close. You will be prompted to pick the shift, count the cash drawer, and complete the closing process.
Once all shifts are closed, the status changes to All shifts completed.
Deposits
This item tracks whether cash deposits have been reconciled against the expected amounts.
If there is an unreconciled amount, the status badge shows Unreconciled followed by the outstanding amount.
Tap Create a Deposit to record a cash deposit for the selected business date.
Once all deposits are reconciled (variance equals zero), the status changes to All deposits reconciled.
When every checklist item is resolved, the checklist is replaced with a success indicator and the message: Everything's completed -- "All required checks are taken care of."
2. Reviewing the Close Day Report
The left sidebar of the Close Out Day screen displays the Close Day Report. At the top, you can select the business date using the date picker to view reports from previous days.
The report is divided into the following sections:
Sales Summary
Gross Sales (Inc. VAT) -- total sales including tax
Total Discounts -- sum of all discounts applied (shown in red)
Net Sales (Inc. VAT) -- sales after discounts, before VAT is removed
VAT -- the tax amount at the configured rate
Net Sales (Ex. VAT) -- final net sales after tax
Order Count -- total number of orders for the day
Average per Bill -- average revenue per order
Sales by Category
A table showing each product category with columns for Item, Qty., and Price.
Discounts & Promotions
A table showing each discount or promotion applied, with columns for Discount, Qty., and Price. Discount amounts are displayed in red. A Total row appears at the bottom.
Sales by Payment Method
A table showing totals grouped by payment method (e.g., cash, card, QR), with columns for Method, Qty., and Price, plus a Total row.
Deposit Summary
Expected deposit -- the cash amount the system expects based on cash sales
Actual deposit -- the total cash physically deposited
Variance -- the difference between expected and actual deposits
Below these figures, a transaction log lists each deposit entry with columns for Time, User, and Amount.
Sales by Order Type
A breakdown by order type (e.g., dine-in, takeaway, delivery) with Method, Qty., and Price columns.
Sales by Channel
A breakdown by sales channel with Channel, Qty., and Price columns.
Voids and Cancellations
Two separate sections showing the count and total amount of voided orders and cancelled orders for the day.
The report ends with - - - End of Report - - -.
3. Handling Cash Discrepancies
A cash discrepancy occurs when the Variance in the Deposit Summary is not zero -- meaning the actual cash deposited does not match the expected amount.
During Shift Closing
When closing a shift, you count the cash in your drawer. If your counted amount does not match the expected amount, the system displays Mismatch detected with the message: "We encountered a mismatch between your counted cash amount and the expected cash amount. How would you like to proceed?"
You have two options:
Perform recount -- Tap this to go back and recount your cash. Use this if you think you may have miscounted.
Proceed with Manager Approval -- Tap this if you have verified your count and it genuinely differs from the expected amount. A manager must approve the discrepancy.
On the Close Out Day Screen
If the Deposits checklist item shows Unreconciled, the variance has not been resolved. To address this:
Tap Create a Deposit to record any remaining cash that has not yet been deposited.
After creating the deposit, the system recalculates the variance.
Repeat until the variance reaches zero and the status shows All deposits reconciled.
If the variance persists after all cash has been deposited, report the discrepancy to your manager and document it according to your store's policy.
4. Printing the Close Day Report
On the Close Out Day screen, review the Close Day Report in the left sidebar.
Tap Print report at the bottom of the sidebar.
The screen displays Printing the Close Day report with the message "Please wait while the report is being printed."
The report prints on the connected receipt printer.
If printing fails, the system displays an error with two options:
Check printer settings -- Tap this to open the printer settings screen, where you can verify the connection and try again.
Go back -- Tap this to return to the Close Out Day screen without printing.
After adjusting printer settings, you can tap Print report again to retry.
