1. Starting a Shift

Before you can process any orders, you need to start a shift. If you try to take an order without one, the POS will display the message Active Shift Required and prompt you to start.

  1. On the Dashboard, look at the My shift panel on the right side of the screen.

  2. Tap the Start Shift button.

  3. The POS will ask you to confirm your identity. Enter your employee passcode and tap Continue.

  4. A confirmation message: Shift successfully started! will appear at the top of the screen.

Your shift is now active. The My shift panel will update to show your Clock-In time and Shift duration, which counts up as you work.

Note: You must start a shift before the system allows you to access Quick Order.

2. During Your Shift

While your shift is active, the My shift panel on the Dashboard shows:

  • Clock-In time -- the time your shift started.

  • Shift duration -- how long you have been working.

Recording Cash Entries

If you need to add or remove cash from the drawer during your shift (for example, making change or paying a delivery driver), tap the Cash Entry button on the My shift panel.

In the Cash Entry dialog, you can record:

  • Cash-In -- money added to the drawer.

  • Cash-Out -- money removed from the drawer.

Enter the Cash amount, select the entry type, and optionally add a note explaining the reason. Tap Confirm to save.

3. Ending Your Shift

When you are finished for the day, follow these steps to close your shift.

  1. On the Dashboard, tap End Shift in the My shift panel.

  2. A confirmation dialog appears with the title Begin closing your shift? and the message: "You'll count the cash and close your drawer next. No more transactions can be processed once you confirm." Tap Confirm to proceed, or Cancel to go back.

  3. Enter your employee passcode and tap Continue to verify your identity.

  4. The system will check your cash drawer:

    • If a cash drawer is open, you will be taken to a cash-counting screen. Review the ending amount and enter your counted cash. Tap Confirm when done.

    • If a mismatch is detected between your counted cash and the expected amount, the POS will show the message Mismatch detected. You can choose Perform recount to re-enter the amount, or Proceed with Manager Approval if the difference is acceptable.

  5. After the cash drawer is closed, the system will display Closing shift... with the message "Please wait while we close the shift."

  6. Once complete, you will see a success screen with the message Shift ended.

  7. The POS returns you to the login screen automatically after a few seconds, or you can tap Back to login immediately.

Tip: If an error occurs while closing, the POS will show an error message. Tap Retry to try again or Cancel to return to the Dashboard.

4. Printing the Shift Report

When you end your shift and a cash drawer was used, the POS will offer to print a summary report before closing.

  1. After your cash drawer is closed, the Print Shift Report screen appears.

  2. The heading reads Print Shift Report with the instruction: "Select how many copies you want to print."

  3. Use the quantity selector under Number of copies to choose how many copies you need (minimum 1).

  4. Tap Print report to send the report to your receipt printer.

  5. A loading screen will display Printing shift report with the message "Please wait while your shift report is being printed."

  6. Once printing is complete, the shift will close and you will be taken to the success screen.
