Waste Logging records everything your store throws away, so your stock figures stay honest and you can see where product is being lost. Submitting a waste logging reduces the stock you have on hand straight away.
1. Open Waste Logging
On Home, tap Stock Activity.
Under Stock control, tap Waste Logging.
The list opens on the waste loggings from the Last 14 days. Use the date chip to look further back, and the All reasons chip to show only one reason.
2. Start a waste logging
Tap New waste logging.
Choose a Waste reason. The list holds the reasons your business has approved, for example Wasted, Expired, or Missing.
Add a Note if it helps whoever reads this later, for example "end of day waste".
Tap Continue.
3. Add the items you are throwing away
Search for an item by name or SKU, or scroll the list.
Tick each item you are logging. The button at the bottom counts what you have picked.
Tap Add items.
4. Enter the quantities
Each line shows how much you have on hand, so you can check the amount before you enter it.
Tap the quantity box on a line. A number pad slides up.
Enter the amount being thrown away, in the unit shown beside the box.
Use the up and down arrows on the number pad to move between lines without closing it.
A line left at 0 cannot be submitted. The app shows Enter a quantity greater than 0 until every line has an amount.
5. Submit it
Tap Submit waste logging.
Read the confirmation. It tells you this updates your stock quantities and that the logging cannot be edited afterwards.
Tap Submit waste logging to confirm.
The logging gets a number beginning W- and appears in the list. Your stock on hand drops by the amounts you entered.
6. Look at a past waste logging
Tap any row in the list to open it. The detail screen shows the reason, the note, who logged it and when, every item with its quantity, and the stock on hand for each item after the waste was taken off.
7. Cancel one that was logged by mistake
Open the waste logging.
Tap the three dots at the top right, then Cancel.
Confirm. Any stock the logging took off is put back.
Cancelling needs a manager. If you are signed in as staff, a manager selects their name and enters their passcode to approve it. Cancelled loggings drop out of the default list, so use the filters to find them.
