Recommendation: Only one POS device per store should have Order Management enabled. This prevents multiple staff members from accidentally moving the same order at the same time.
1. Enabling Order Management
Order Management must be turned on before it appears on the dashboard. To enable it, go to Settings > Order Manager and toggle Enable Order Manager on. For full details on Order Manager settings — including auto-fire to kitchen, kitchen ticket printing, sound alerts, and alert on status — see Settings.
2. Opening Order Management
From the main dashboard, tap Order Management.
The Order Manager screen opens. It displays a horizontal board with color-coded columns, one for each order status.
Swipe left or right to scroll between columns. Each column header shows the status name, an icon, and the number of orders currently in that status.
To return to the dashboard, tap the menu button in the top-left corner of the app bar.
3. Understanding Order Statuses
Orders move through statuses from left to right on the board. Each column represents one status:
Status | Column Label | What It Means |
New order received | Pending | The order has arrived and is waiting for you to accept it. |
Accepted | Accepted | You have accepted the order. It is queued and ready to be started. |
Being made | In preparation | The kitchen or prep team is actively working on this order. |
Ready to hand over | Ready for pickup | The order is complete and waiting for the customer to collect it. |
Out for delivery | Delivering | A driver is on the way to the customer (delivery orders only). |
Done | Completed | The customer has received the order. No further action is needed. |
Two additional columns may appear for orders that were stopped:
Canceled -- the order was canceled before payment or fulfillment.
Voided -- the order was canceled after payment; a refund was processed.
4. Moving Orders Between Statuses
Each order card shows one or two action buttons at the bottom. The green button advances the order to the next status; the secondary button (or Options menu) lets you cancel, void, or recall the order.
Accepting a new order
Find the order card in the Pending column.
Tap Accept.
The order moves to the Accepted column.
Starting preparation
Find the order card in the Accepted column.
Tap Start.
The order moves to the In preparation column. If kitchen-ticket printing is enabled, a ticket is sent to the preparation station automatically.
Marking an order as ready
Find the order card in the In preparation column.
Tap Ready.
The order moves to the Ready for pickup column.
Completing an order (customer picks up)
Find the order card in the Ready for pickup column.
Tap Picked Up.
The order moves to the Completed column.
Completing a delivery order
Find the order card in the Delivering column.
Tap Delivered.
The order moves to the Completed column.
Recalling an order to the previous status
The reasons staff can select for recall, cancel, and void are configured by your admin team. For instructions on setting them up, see [How to Create Reasons]
If an order was moved forward by mistake:
Tap Options (or the secondary button) on the order card.
Tap Recall.
Confirm the recall and select a reason.
The order moves back to the previous status.
Canceling or voiding an order
If the order has not been paid, the secondary button shows Cancel. Tap it, confirm, and select a cancellation reason.
If the order has been paid, the secondary button shows Void. Tap it, confirm the refund amount, and follow the on-screen refund steps (cash drawer or EDC terminal).
5. Viewing Order Details
Tap anywhere on an order card (not on an action button).
A detail sidebar slides in from the right side of the screen. It shows:
Header -- order number, status, and channel icon.
Order metadata -- order type, table name (for dine-in), timestamps, and customer name.
Order items -- each line item with modifiers, quantity, and price.
Payment -- payment method and amounts.
Status history -- a timeline of every status change the order has been through, with timestamps.
From this sidebar you can also reprint the receipt. Tap the reprint option, confirm in the dialog, and the receipt is sent to the printer.
Action buttons at the bottom of the sidebar let you advance, cancel, void, or recall the order without going back to the board.
Tap the close button at the top of the sidebar to return to the board.
6. Filtering Orders
The app bar at the top of the Order Manager screen provides four filters and a search box. All filters work together -- only orders matching every active filter are shown.
Filter by date range
Tap the date-range dropdown in the app bar (it defaults to today).
Select a predefined period, or choose a custom range from the calendar picker.
Filter by channel
Tap the channel dropdown. It shows All Channels by default.
Check or uncheck the channels you want to see (e.g., POS, online, third-party delivery).
Tap Apply Filters.
Filter by order type
Tap the order-type dropdown. It shows All Order Types by default.
Check or uncheck the types you want: Dine-In, Take Away, Delivery, Curbside, or Drive-Thru.
Tap Apply Filters.
Filter by state
Tap the state dropdown. It shows All States by default.
Check or uncheck the statuses you want to see (e.g., show only Pending and In preparation). The count next to each status tells you how many orders are in that state.
Tap Apply Filters.
Searching for a specific order
Tap the Search Order field in the app bar.
Type the order number or customer name. Results update as you type.
To clear the search, tap the X icon in the search field, or tap Clear Search if no results are found.
7. Order Alerts
Order alerts notify you when orders in a specific status need attention -- for example, when new orders arrive in Pending and have not been accepted.
How alerts are triggered
The Alert on Status and Sound Alerts settings in Settings > Order Manager control which statuses trigger alerts and whether a sound plays. See Settings for details.
When orders accumulate in a monitored status, a notification banner appears at the bottom of the screen showing a message such as "3 orders in Pending require attention!"
Handling an alert
When you see the notification banner, tap it.
The Order Alerts panel slides in from the right. It shows the title Order Alerts and lists all orders in the alerted status.
Review the listed orders. Each card shows the order number, channel, customer name, item count, and elapsed time.
Tap an action button on a card to handle the order directly from the panel (e.g., tap Accept for a pending order).
Once every order in the status has been handled, the panel shows No Active Alerts with the message "You have handled all orders requiring attention."
Tap See All Orders at the bottom of the panel to jump to the full Order Manager screen.
Tap the close button or swipe the panel away to dismiss it.
