Okya’s Self-Ordering Kiosk allows customers to place orders directly, reducing wait times and errors while increasing upsells and efficiency. Orders placed on the kiosk flow directly into your store’s backend system(s).
This guide shows each step of the customer journey, what the customer sees, and what’s happening behind the scenes—so your team can support kiosk operations confidently.

What Customers Can Do on the Kiosk
Customers complete the following steps when placing an order:
Touch screen to start
Choose a language
Use accessibility mode (optional)
Select dine-in or take-out
Browse the menu by category
Select items
Customize selections
Review and edit basket
Apply promotions or loyalty
Choose payment method
Receive receipt with order number
Each step is explained in more detail below.
1. Touch Screen to Start
The kiosk begins on an idle screen that prompts: "Touch Anywhere to Start"
Tapping the screen launches a new customer session
The screen will reset after a period of inactivity
2. Choose Language
Customers choose their preferred language (e.g., English, Thai, Chinese). After choosing the language, the entire flow will display in their chosen language.
3. Accessibility Button
The accessibility button appears at the bottom of the screen.
Clicking the Accessibility button lowers all interface elements, which makes it easier to operate the kiosk for customers in wheelchairs or with limited mobility.
4. Dine-In or Take-Out
Customers select either Dine-In or Take-Out.
This helps employees prepare and pack orders correctly.
Some restaurants may configure a flow that asks customers to enter a table number for dine-in.
This information is relayed to the kitchen or prep station
5. Browse Menu by Category
Customers browse menu categories such as:
Salads
Drinks
Desserts
Unavailable items are hidden or marked as sold out in real time.
6. Select Menu Items
Tapping a product shows more details.
Product details include:
Image
Description
Required and optional selections
After reviewing your order, tap Upsell sections may appear below the item.
7. Customize Menu Items
Customers can personalize their order with:
Sizes
Toppings
Sauces
Spice level
Required selections must be completed before continuing. Optional add-ons can be chosen, and prices will adjust automatically. Tap the "Continue" button to save the item's customizations.
Tap “Add to order” to add the item to their basket.
After that, the item will be added to the customer's basket.
8. View Basket and Make Edits
In the basket view, customers can:
Review all items
Remove or edit individual selections
Adjust quantities
Subtotal automatically updates before checkout.
9. Promotions Button
The Promotions button is available in the basket or checkout screen.
Tapping opens a QR scanner
Customers can scan promo codes, vouchers, or loyalty barcodes
Valid offers are applied automatically
10. Choose Payment Method
Customers can choose:
Pay Here (credit card or PromptPay QR)
Pay at Counter (alerts the cashier)
The kiosk guides the customer through their selected payment method.
11. Receive Receipt and Order Number
After successful payment:
The kiosk displays a thank-you screen with the order number and the order is automatically routed to the kitchen.
A receipt will be printed or displayed digitally
Troubleshooting and Quick Fixes
Use this checklist if the kiosk isn’t functioning properly:
Kiosk not responding
Check power, cables, and tablet connections
Kiosk not loading
Ensure the device is connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet
Order not showing in POS
Restart the kiosk application
Notify your supervisor
